25 Feb AHFA Queensland Hairdresser of the Year 2016 – Finalist
Third generation Isle of Capri salon owner Lee Black is convinced that his love of hair is in his blood. Trained in Sydney, Lee and his team bring directional on-trend hair to the Gold Coast in a warm and friendly environment which rightly earns them the title of one of the best salons in the area.
Lee’s work has been continually recognised within the hair-fashion industry and he is known and celebrated by his peers for being client focused, artistically driven and passionate about his craft. Over recent years, Lee has been busy backstage styling hair at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia in Sydney and at the Australian Fashion Designer Awards, and he has photographic shoots a-plenty under his belt. He has also achieved outstanding results in numerous hair competitions, but we are thrilled to share the jewel in his crown to date – Lee has been nominated for Queensland Hairdresser of the Year at the Australian Hair Fashion Awards (AHFA’s) – Australia’s largest and most influential hairdressing industry awards which recognize and reward the creative vision and dynamism of hairstylists nationwide.
Featuring hundreds of entries from the elite of the hair fashion industry in Australia, the AHFA’s are the only Australian industry awards with an international reach. In order to gain global recognition for our hairstylists, the entries are judged in London under the watchful eyes of the crème de la crème of British and European hairdressing. It’s great to see that Lee’s stunning photographic collection, with colour by MOW Master Colourist Kate Rawnsley is putting the Gold Coast on a global stage as well as doing us proud here in Australia!
The 2016 AHFA’s take place on 10th April in Sydney’s iconic Luna Park when all will be revealed…..Good luck Lee!
