Under the direction of salon owner Lee Black, who has been continually recognised for his work within the hair-fashion industry, the Mow Hair team keep a watchful eye on all of the latest trends to walk the international catwalks and bring these to the Gold Coast.

As you enter our up-market salon you will step into a relaxed and professional atmosphere where the busy buzz is contagious. Lee Black offers the highest level of quality in all aspects of hairdressing, being a 3rd generation hairdresser who believes his love for hair is in his blood. Client focused, artistically driven and passionate about his craft, Lee has achieved outstanding results in many hair competitions. His most recent and biggest achievement so far was the 2016 Queensland Hairdresser of the Year Finalist in the Australian Hair Fashion Awards. He has all so styled hair at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Sydney, Australian Fashion Designer Awards and published work in international fashion magazines and directed hair for fashion photoshoots.”. His true love is being on the salon floor with the guests, he prides himself on a reputation of being a market leader and this is reflected in his work

CURRENTLY ON MATERNITY LEAVE UNTIL NOVEMBER 2025 - Caitlynn shows a lot of confidence in her approach to achieving beautiful cuts and colours. Her love for creating beautiful up styles and braids is on another level. She creates amazing looks that compliment the salon guest in every way. Caitlynn has styled at Melbourne Fashion Week, has assisted on brand photographic collections, has achieved runner up in an intercoiffere editorial photographic competition. Caitlynn has had her work published in magazines for her mens cutting and has placed 1st place for “Street Expression” in the IHS Hairdressing Awards. Caitlyyn has alot to offer and we are stoked to have her on our team. Caitlynn loves to perfect blondes and has a natural gift for amazing upstyles and creative styling. With a wealth of experience, Andy and his salon brand have been at the pinnacle of hairdressing in the UK for the last two decades. He worked and trained in London, perfecting his craft of precision cutting at Vidal Sassoon. After successful years as a top stylist, he went on to open his salon brand MACK which is still going strong in the UK. Andy led his team to numerous national hairdressing awards, many with customer care at the forefront, however the pinnacle accolade was winning the prestigious L’Oréal Professional Colour Trophy in the UK. Over the years he has been featured and quoted in top magazines that include Vogue. Andy strives to make every client feel like an individual and prides himself on producing precision cuts and bespoke colours for every client he looks after. He also loves the challenge on working on all different types of curls. He believes that the most important reward in the industry is to make his clients look good and feel fantastic, which has been a benchmark to his career.

Doug is a seasoned stylist who’s been bringing his creative touch to the world of hairdressing since 2005. What first drew him to the industry? The glamour, the lifestyle, and the opportunity to work backstage at fashion shows and big productions. Today, Doug loves how hairdressing allows him to express his individuality—and we’re all for it! Over the years, Doug has earned his place as an ambassador and trainer for international and luxury salon brands, working with some incredible names along the way. Now, at Mow Hair, he shares that expertise to elevate your salon experience to a whole new level of luxury. Doug’s passion for the craft ensures that every visit is tailored to make you feel like a star. With core values rooted in respect, happiness, and honesty, Doug is a perfect fit for our team and for our clients. David brings over 35 years of cutting expertise to the salon, with a background that spans some of the world’s most respected names in hairdressing. Melbourne-trained at some of the leading salon brands in Australia and further refined at Vidal Sassoon in London, David has worked internationally as an educator in Tokyo, Thailand, and across Southeast Asia. He was also the Artistic Director of Education at one of Melbournes leading salons and spent 18 years in Melbourne’s high end luxury hair salons. Gold Coast locals may remember David from his popular and trendsetting Main Beach salon. Passionate about precision cutting, fashion, photography, and education, David now offers his cutting and styling services exclusively on Wednesdays.

With 14 years of experience behind the chair, Pixie brings a fearless approach to hair and a deep love for colour in all its forms—especially vivids and alternative styles that break the mould. Whether it’s crafting a bold new hue or creating the perfect short cut, Pixie thrives on helping clients express their individuality. A qualified colour specialist with a colour degree and a finalist in multiple industry awards, Pixie stays at the cutting edge of technique and trend. But above all, it’s the connections—meeting new people and making them feel amazing—that fuel Pixie’s passion every day.
